Using the built in Shapes font

Tutorial by Marc Sylvester
www.thelogocreator.com

There is an embedded font in The Art Creator called "Shapes".

Select or create some text. On the left, you'll see the Format button.

Pull down the 2nd font menu to select The Logo Creator's built in fonts. (The top menu contains your computer's system fonts and any other fonts you download from the net).

Select the Shapes font (all fonts are listed alphabetically.)

Once you have this 'shapes font' selected, use your keyboard and type in the following to see what shapes appear.Create multiple logo design shapes by altering the gradients and various colors and outlines of the shapes!

format To find the Shapes font: Choose the FORMAT button after clicking on some text.

Choose the SHAPES Font as shown below. (When the font menu appears, you can type the letter "S" to jump to the fonts that begin with the letter S.

Type in the letter C. This will create a Circle. You can then apply an outline, gradient, drop shadow and more to the circle. Anything you can do with Text, you can do with shapes using the Shapes font.

Typing the letter "c" produces a circle
By using various gradients (select "Color Attributes" after setting your shape) a multitude of different shapes can be made. Instant logo design shapes!
o is an oval
s is a square (uppercase "S" for curved corners)
r is a rectangle (R for curved corners)
t and T are right triangles
y and Y are isosceles triangles
The number 1 for the hand-drawn stars from grade-school (try it out with outline)
" ! " for the same star, but a solid center
2 for 20 pointed star
3 to 9 for that many pointed star

shift + 3 to 9 for more acutely pointed stars
@ for sharper 20 pointed star
- (the minus sign) for horizontal line (making it rotatable will allow generation of angled lines)
| (that's the "pipe" character usually found under the RETURN or ENTER keys) for vertical line (making it rotatable will allow generation of angled lines)
b for bicycle chain link (increase character spacing)
